Before you start:

  1. Ensure that the WebCam is NOT connected to ther computer before installing the drivers.
  2. Insert the Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive and install device drivers and applications for the Creative WebCam Instant Skype Edition.
  3. Internet Connection (either dial-up: minimum 33.6 Kbps modem, or any broadband: cable, DSL, etc) for use of Skype

Starting Creative WebCam Center

Creative WebCam Center makes it easy to capture images and video with your Creative WebCam. You can start Creative WebCam Center in any of the following ways:

  • Click Start, Programs, then Creative, Creative WebCam and finally, click on Creative WebCam Center.
  • Right-click the Creative Cam Detector icon in your taskbar, and select Launch Creative WebCam Center. This icon appears if, during installation, you clicked the option for Creative Cam Detector to load automatically at Windows startup.
  • Plug your camera into the USB port and let Windows auto-detect it. You can choose to start Creative WebCam Center in Capture mode from a popup window that appears.

Note:
Creative WebCam Center automatically detects your installed model of WebCam, and disables any unsupported features in the user interface.

Taking a photo

  1. In the Creative WebCam Center window, click the Capture tab.
  2. Click the Photo Resolution box and select the resolution that you want. If you want to capture a panoramic view, select Panoramic.
  3. Click the Snap photo button to capture an image. Images are saved as files in the default media folder.
  4. To view the images in the image viewer, double-click the image files in the Thumbnails/Details pane.

Note:
The Panoramic option is only available with selected Creative WebCams.

Recording a video

  1. In the Creative WebCam Center window, click the Capture tab.
  2. Click the Video Resolution box and select the resolution that you want.
  3. Click the Record button to start and stop video recording.
    Videos are saved as files in the default media folder when you stop recording.
    To view the videos in the video viewer, double-click the video files in the Thumbnails/Details pane.

Using Skype

Making a test call with Skype

  1. In the contacts tab, click the "contact Skype call"
  2. Click the green 'call' button to start the call. Follow the directions given in the recording.

Add your friends to your contacts list

  1. Click the green "Add contact" icon on the Skype application toolbar."
  2. Type your friend's Skype name into Add box in the "Add a contact" window and click search to find them.

How to Use Skype Chat

  1. select a Contact in your Contacts List and click the "Chat" toolbar button."
  2. A chat window is opened,You can also start a chat to multiple Contacts. To do this, select all of them in the Contacts List by holding down the ctrl button on your keyboard and clicking on the Contact names. Then, click the Start Chat button on the toolbar.

Adding or Changing My Picture

  1. Open Skype and go to "File" on the menu Select “edit Personal Profile"
  2. On the bottom left of the "My Profile" screen, under "details that only my contacts will see" click on "change".
  3. Under my pictures window click on "browse" and select the image you want as your profile.
